}} The M-16 is an assault rifle in Dead Trigger 2.

Overview[]

The M-16 is the first assault rifle to be unlocked. Gunsmith level 2 is required to build this weapon.

Summary[]

The M-16, also referred to as the "Black Rifle" by Buck Andrews is a 3-round burst assault rifle in Dead Trigger 2. The M-16 features 30 bullets in the magazine and 90 in reserve, giving a grand total of 120 bullets. In-game the M-16 is a step up over the MP5K. Though the MP5K has five more bullets in the magazine and 15 in reserve, it more than compensates for the lower capacity with more damage, range, accuracy and a controlled rate of fire. Its burst fire mode can be a disadvantage, as it doesn't allow the player to precisely use every single bullet, for example when fired at a zombie with low health where one shot would be enough. It also means that the rate of fire is overall slower than full-auto weapons have.

The M-16 is most effective against zombies at a mid-range and is particularly effective against special zombies like the Scienfist, the Kamikaze and the Vomitron, since engaging these zombies at close range is highly discouraged, the power, accuracy and the range of the M-16 make it one of best weapons to deal with them in the early stages. Nevertheless it is an effective weapon in the early stages where the CZ 75 and the MP5K start to lose their power and become replaced by other weapons.

However, the M-16 will start to lose power quickly as well. Since the AK 74 is obtainable, there isn't any gap between M-16 and the M-4 and the player can get the AK-74 easily because of he only need one blueprint to get it.

Pros & Cons[]

Plusico Good damage at early stages, good range
Minusico Burst fire can be a disadvantage, starts to lose power quickly, low reserve ammo

Trivia[]

  • This M16 is used during the Vietnam War era
  • This gun has the same firing and reloading sound as the Colt M4.
  • Its muzzle brake is big and bulky, looking like a silencer from first person. It is likely to be a suppressor, however, the firing sound and flash is the same as unsilenced weapons.
  • Also, the suppressor isn't visible on the HUD icon.
